Eagles Ground Lions in Defensive Struggle

PHILADELPHIA (Interstat) — The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Detroit Lions 16-9 on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field in a game dominated by defense. The Eagles improved to 8-2, while the Lions fell to 6-4.

Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts scored on a 1-yard touchdown run just before halftime to give the Eagles a 13-6 lead. Kicker Jake Elliott was perfect on the day, connecting on all three of his field goal attempts, including a 49-yarder in the fourth quarter.

Detroit’s only touchdown came on a 40-yard pass from Jared Goff to Jameson Williams. Goff struggled with accuracy, completing just 14 of 37 passes. The Lions’ offense was held to a single fourth-quarter field goal in the second half.
