Cincinnati at Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH (Interstat) — A pivotal AFC North rematch is set for Acrisure Stadium on Sunday as the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Steelers (5-4) look to rebound from a 25-10 road loss to the Los Angeles Chargers and solidify their position in the playoff chase. The Bengals (3-6), despite a 33-31 victory over Pittsburgh in October, are reeling, having lost their last two games in heartbreaking fashion. They fell 47-42 to the Chicago Bears after previously losing 39-38 to the New York Jets.
Cincinnati’s defense has been a primary concern, allowing an average of 43 points in its last two outings. Conversely, the Steelers’ defense, led by linebacker Alex Highsmith who had two sacks last week, aims to contain a Bengals offense quarterbacked by Joe Flacco, who threw for 470 yards and four touchdowns in the shootout with Chicago.
Despite the Bengals’ recent head-to-head win and Flacco’s production, Interstat’s game simulator projects a 30-20 victory for the Steelers. However, oddsmakers list Cincinnati as a 5.5-point favorite. The over/under is set at 49.5.
Pittsburgh won the earlier meeting this season 31-33 in Cincinnati on Oct. 16. Sunday’s contest is critical for both teams’ postseason aspirations as they navigate the second half of the schedule.
