Cleveland at N.Y. Jets

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (Interstat) — Two teams mired at the bottom of the standings will meet Sunday when the Cleveland Browns visit the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.

Both clubs enter the Nov. 9 contest looking to build on rare positive results. The Browns (2-6) are coming off a 31-6 rout of Miami on Oct. 19 before their bye week, which followed a 32-13 loss at New England. The Jets (1-7) are riding high after their first victory, a 39-38 road win over Cincinnati on Oct. 26. Quarterback Justin Fields powered that upset, throwing for 244 yards and a touchdown while adding 31 yards on the ground.

Despite the Jets’ record, their offense has shown recent signs of life, while the Browns will hope their defense can replicate its dominant performance against the Dolphins. Cleveland’s win over Miami stands as an outlier in a season featuring losses by 24, 24 and 27 points.

The Jets have been installed as 2.5-point favorites by oddsmakers. The over/under is set at 37.5 points. A statistical projection from Interstat forecasts a 28-22 victory for New York.

The game will be the first of a tough upcoming stretch for both teams. Following this contest, the Jets travel to New England for a Thursday afternoon game on Nov. 13, while the Browns host Baltimore on Nov. 16.
