Atlanta Falcons vs. Indianapolis Colts

BERLIN (Interstat) — Jonathan Taylor’s third touchdown of the game, an 8-yard run in overtime, lifted the Indianapolis Colts to a 31-25 victory over the Atlanta Falcons in a back-and-forth NFL contest Sunday at Olympic Stadium Berlin.

In front of an international crowd of 72,203, the Colts improved to 8-2 overall, while the Falcons fell to 3-6.

Taylor was the engine of the Indianapolis offense, carrying the ball 32 times for a dominant 244 yards. His 83-yard touchdown sprint with just over six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter brought the Colts within three points, and his final carry in the extra period sealed the win.

The game appeared to be slipping away from the Colts late in regulation. After Taylor’s long score, the Falcons orchestrated a meticulous 13-play, 71-yard drive, capped by a 1-yard Tyler Allgeier touchdown run. Michael Penix Jr. then connected with Drake London for a successful two-point conversion, giving Atlanta a 25-22 lead with 1:44 left.

Colts quarterback Daniel Jones, who finished 19 of 26 for 255 yards and a touchdown while adding 53 yards on seven scrambles, calmly led a response. Starting at his own 41-yard line with 1:37 on the clock, Jones navigated the offense into field goal range. Kicker Michael Badgley delivered under pressure, drilling a 44-yard field goal as time expired to force overtime at 25-25.

Atlanta’s possession in overtime was disastrous. The drive lost 13 yards over five plays, culminating in a sack of Penix on third down, and resulted in a punt from deep in their own territory.

Indianapolis took over and methodically marched down the field. A key 23-yard completion from Jones to tight end Tyler Warren, who finished with eight catches for 99 yards, set the stage for Taylor’s game-winning score.

The Falcons had built an early lead, with Allgeier and London scoring first-half touchdowns. Penix struggled with consistency, completing just 12 of 28 passes for 177 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. London was his primary target, hauling in six passes for 104 yards and a score.

The Colts’ defense was relentless, sacking Penix five times. Zaire Franklin led the unit with 10 tackles and a sack, while Nick Cross also recorded a sack among his seven tackles. Jessie Bates III intercepted a Jones pass for Atlanta in the second quarter.

The game was a statistical mismatch in rushing, with Indianapolis amassing 307 yards on the ground compared to Atlanta’s 141. Bijan Robinson led the Falcons with 84 yards on 17 carries.

The Colts now look ahead to a road game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Nov. 23. The Falcons will return home to host the Carolina Panthers on Nov. 16.
