Tampa Bay at New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS (Interstat) — A clash of NFC South teams heading in opposite directions will take place Sunday when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-2) visit the New Orleans Saints (1-6) at Caesars Superdome.
Despite their starkly different records, the Saints have been installed as a 3.5-point favorite by oddsmakers. The over/under is 46.5 points. A projection from Interstat forecasts a 31-21 victory for New Orleans.
The Buccaneers are looking to rebound from a 24-9 road loss to the Detroit Lions this past Monday. Quarterback Baker Mayfield completed 28 of 50 passes for 228 yards and a touchdown in the defeat. Prior to that, Tampa Bay had won three of its last four games.
The Saints’ season has been a struggle, with their lone victory coming against the New York Giants in Week 5. They are entering this contest following a 26-14 loss to the Chicago Bears. In that game, quarterback Spencer Rattler threw for 233 yards and two touchdowns, adding 12 rushing yards.
The teams will meet again in Tampa on Dec. 7. For now, the Buccaneers aim to solidify their divisional standing, while the Saints are desperate to salvage their season.
