Tennessee at Houston
HOUSTON (Interstat) — Two teams seeking their first win of the season will meet Sunday when the Houston Texans host the Tennessee Titans at NRG Stadium.
Both the Titans and Texans enter the Week 4 matchup with 0-3 records. Tennessee is coming off a 41-20 home loss to Indianapolis, while Houston fell 17-10 at Jacksonville last Sunday.
Despite the identical records, oddsmakers have installed the Titans as a 7.5-point favorite. The over/under is set at 39.5 points. A projection from Interstat, however, forecasts a 31-24 victory for the home team.
The game features a quarterback matchup between Tennessee’s Cam Ward and Houston’s C.J. Stroud. Ward threw for 219 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 12 yards and three scores in the loss to the Colts. Stroud passed for 204 yards and a touchdown and added 22 yards rushing against the Jaguars.
Both teams have struggled to open the season. The Titans’ losses include a 33-19 defeat to the Los Angeles Rams and a 20-12 loss at Denver. The Texans’ setbacks include a narrow 20-19 loss to Tampa Bay and a 14-9 defeat at the Rams.
Sunday’s contest is the first of two meetings between the AFC South rivals this season. They are scheduled to play again in Tennessee on Nov. 16.
