TOKYO (Interstat) — Yomiuri beat Tokyo Yakult 3-2 on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 20, 2026, at Tokyo Dome as Shinnosuke Ogasawara pitched into the sixth and the Giants bullpen closed it out. Ogasawara allowed two earned runs on four hits with seven strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings. Kota Nakagawa earned the win in relief, improving to 3-1, and Raidel Martinez recorded his 40th save with a scoreless inning and two strikeouts. Kousuke Sakaguchi took the loss for Yakult, falling to 0-1. Keiji Takahashi pitched 5 2/3 innings for the Swallows, yielding one earned run on four hits with three walks and five strikeouts. Yakult scored once in the third and once in the fifth. Yomiuri answered with one run in the fifth and two in the sixth. Yuta Izuguchi drove in two runs for Yomiuri with a double, while Bobby Dalbec added an RBI single. Jose Osuna homered for Yakult, and Domingo Santana drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.
