CHIBA, Japan (Interstat) — Livan Moinelo pitched a complete-game shutout, and the SoftBank Hawks defeated the Lotte Marines 9-0 on Tuesday night at Chiba Marine Stadium.

Moinelo allowed three hits and struck out nine without an earned run while improving to 3-0. SoftBank scored five times in the first inning, with Ryuta Hirose’s three-run double to left-center capping the rally. Taisei Makihara added an RBI single, and Yuki Yanagita drew a bases-loaded walk.

The Hawks added two runs in the fourth on Ryoya Kurihara’s two-run double, then scored twice in the ninth as Kensuke Kondoh doubled home a run and Akira Nakamura grounded out to drive in another.

Losing pitcher Yuto Yoshikawa dropped to 0-2. Shuta Takano threw three hitless innings of relief for the Marines, and Naoya Masuda added a scoreless inning.

SoftBank, which outhit Lotte 7-3, improved to 70-42-2. Lotte fell to 52-56-2. Attendance was 28,147, and the game lasted 2 hours, 27 minutes.
