TOKYO (Interstat) — The Tokyo Yakult Swallows stayed perfect, defeating the Hiroshima Carp 8-3 on Tuesday night at Meiji Jingu Stadium. Shu Masuda’s two-run homer highlighted a 12-hit attack for Yakult, which improved to 4-0.

Hiroshima led early on Shogo Sakakura’s three-run double in the sixth, but Yakult answered with three runs in the fifth, fueled by Masuda’s go-ahead blast. The Swallows added insurance in the eighth before a crowd of 28,284.

Winning pitcher Yasuhiro Ogawa allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings. Hiroshima’s Masato Morishita took the loss. The Carp fell to 3-1.
