VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Interstat) — The Tampa Bay Lightning scored three times in the second period to pull away from the Vancouver Canucks in a 6-2 victory on Thursday night at Rogers Arena.

Nikita Kucherov had a goal and two assists, and Anthony Cirelli added a goal and two assists for the Lightning, who improved to 42-25. Andrei Vasilevskiy made 19 saves for the win before a crowd of 18,345.

Jake Guentzel, Darren Raddysh, Yanni Gourde and Brandon Hagel also scored for Tampa Bay. Liam Ohgren and Linus Karlsson scored for the Canucks, who fell to 21-47. Marco Rossi had two assists for Vancouver.

The Lightning led 1-0 after the first period and extended their lead to 4-1 in the second. Vancouver never got closer than two goals in the third period.
