Senators Rally Past Islanders in Third Period

OTTAWA, Ontario (Interstat) — Brady Tkachuk scored the decisive goal with 2:13 remaining as the Ottawa Senators rallied for a 3-2 victory over the New York Islanders on Thursday night at Canadian Tire Centre.

Shane Pinto and Warren Foegele also scored for the Senators, who erased a one-goal deficit with two third-period tallies. James Reimer made 17 saves for the win. Brayden Schenn and Matthew Schaefer scored for the Islanders, who had a two-game win streak snapped.

A fight between Tkachuk and Anders Lee just one second into the game set a physical tone. The Senators’ third-period push improved their record to 35-33, while the Islanders fell to 39-30.
