Pelicans Overwhelm Jazz in High-Scoring Affair
NEW ORLEANS (Interstat) — The New Orleans Pelicans erupted for 50 points in the third quarter to surge past the Utah Jazz 156-137 on Tuesday night at Smoothie King Center.
The Jazz led 69-61 at halftime, but the Pelicans’ record third-quarter outburst, followed by a 45-point fourth, secured the win before an announced crowd of 15,971. Utah’s 41-point fourth quarter was not enough to close the gap.
With the victory, New Orleans improved to 26-54. Utah fell to 21-59. The combined score of 293 points far exceeded the pregame over/under line of 241.5. New Orleans was a 11.5-point favorite.
