Spurs Overwhelm Thunder With Dominant Fourth Quarter
SAN ANTONIO (Interstat) — The San Antonio Spurs used a 43-point fourth quarter to surge past the Oklahoma City Thunder 130-110 in an NBA game Tuesday night at Frost Bank Center.
The game was a tight contest through three quarters, with the Spurs holding a slim 87-82 lead. San Antonio then erupted offensively in the final period, outscoring Oklahoma City by 15 to pull away decisively. The victory avenged a Spurs loss to the Thunder just 10 days prior.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led all scorers with 33 points for Oklahoma City. Jalen Williams added 17 points and eight assists in the loss.
San Antonio’s Stephon Castle paced a balanced attack with 24 points. Keldon Johnson contributed 25 points off the bench, and Harrison Barnes scored 20. The Spurs improved to 22-8, while the Thunder, who entered with the league’s best record, fell to 26-4.
A crowd of 19,133 attended the game. The teams will meet again in Oklahoma City on Christmas Day.
