Milwaukee Brewers at Los Angeles Dodgers
LOS ANGELES (Interstat) — With their season on the line, the Milwaukee Brewers will turn to Shohei Ohtani to try and even the National League Championship Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 4 on Friday night at Dodger Stadium.
The Dodgers took a commanding 2-1 series lead with a 3-1 victory on Thursday, continuing a trend of dominant pitching in this postseason matchup. Los Angeles has held Milwaukee to just three total runs through the first three games of the series.
Facing elimination, the Brewers will hand the ball to Ohtani (2-1). The two-way superstar will be tasked with solving a Dodgers lineup that has found ways to manufacture runs against a stout Milwaukee staff.
The Dodgers’ probable pitcher was not announced.
Both teams finished the regular season with nearly identical records, with the Dodgers (101-70) holding a one-game edge over the Brewers (100-70). However, the recent head-to-head history has been one-sided in this series, with Los Angeles winning the last three contests after Milwaukee swept a three-game set at Dodger Stadium in July.
The weather forecast calls for clear skies and 68 degrees at first pitch, ideal conditions for a critical October matchup. According to Interstat’s game simulator, the Dodgers are projected to win 7-4.
If the Brewers win, the series will be tied 2-2 and shift back to Milwaukee for Game 5 on Saturday. A Dodgers victory would send them to the World Series.
