Seattle Mariners at Toronto Blue Jays
TORONTO (Interstat) — The American League Division Series begins Sunday at Rogers Centre as the Toronto Blue Jays, boasting the league’s best record, host the Seattle Mariners in Game 1.
The Blue Jays (97-69) enter the postseason with home-field advantage after winning seven of their final 10 regular-season games, including a 5-2 victory over the New York Yankees on Wednesday. Toronto’s offense was potent down the stretch, scoring 13 runs in a game twice in its final eight contests.
Seattle (93-74) arrives in Toronto after a tight 3-2 win over the Detroit Tigers on Friday to clinch its playoff berth. The Mariners’ bullpen, featuring George Kirby, Eduard Bazardo and Matt Brash, combined for 4 2/3 scoreless innings of relief in that victory.
The season series was split 3-3, with each team sweeping a three-game set on its home field. The Mariners took two of three in Toronto in April, while the Blue Jays returned the favor with a three-game sweep in Seattle in May, outscoring the Mariners 21-7.
According to Interstat, the Blue Jays are projected to win Game 1 with a final score of 7-5. Toronto has been installed as a pregame favorite with a spread of -1.5. The over/under is set at 7.5 runs.
First pitch is scheduled for Sunday, October 12, 2025.
