Milwaukee Brewers at Chicago Cubs
CHICAGO (Interstat) — The Milwaukee Brewers will look to take a commanding lead in their National League playoff series when they face the Chicago Cubs in Game 3 on Wednesday at Wrigley Field.
The Brewers, who finished the regular season 99-65, hold a 2-0 series lead after winning the first two games at home, outscoring the Cubs 16-6. Milwaukee has won six of its last seven games.
Chicago, which went 94-73, returns home facing a must-win scenario. The Cubs had won five of six before the series began but have struggled to contain Milwaukee’s offense.
The pitching matchup features a contrast in seasons. Milwaukee’s Quinn Priester (13-3) will take the mound with one of the league’s best records. He will be opposed by the Cubs’ Jameson Taillon (11-7).
In Milwaukee’s 7-3 Game 2 victory, Jackson Chourio and Andrew Vaughn each hit a home run and drove in three runs. Seiya Suzuki provided Chicago’s offense with a three-run homer.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:08 p.m. CDT under cloudy skies with a temperature near 63 degrees. Despite the Brewers being a 1.5-run favorite, a projection from Interstat forecasts a 6-4 Cubs victory. The over/under is set at 7 runs.
