Seattle Mariners at Detroit Tigers
DETROIT (Interstat) — The American League Division Series shifts to Comerica Park on Tuesday evening for a pivotal Game 3 between the Seattle Mariners and Detroit Tigers, with the best-of-five series knotted at one game apiece.
The Mariners evened the series with a 3-2 victory in Seattle on Sunday, powered by a two-home run, three-hit performance from second baseman Jorge Polanco. The Tigers took Game 2 by a 3-2 score on Saturday behind a strong start from Tarik Skubal.
Seattle, which finished the regular season 91-73, holds a slim statistical edge in the season series against the 90-77 Tigers. The Mariners won a three-game sweep in Detroit from July 11-13, outscoring the Tigers 35-14 in those contests.
Game 3 is scheduled for an evening first pitch under cloudy skies with a game-time temperature of 82 degrees forecast.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a high-scoring affair, predicting a 6-5 victory for the Mariners. Accordingly, Seattle has been installed as a pregame favorite with a spread of -1.5. The over/under for the contest is set at 7.5 runs.
The series will continue in Detroit for Game 4 on Wednesday. A decisive Game 5, if necessary, would be back in Seattle on Friday.
