Cincinnati Reds vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
LOS ANGELES (Interstat) — The Los Angeles Dodgers, fresh off a strong finish to the regular season, will host the Cincinnati Reds in Game 1 of their National League playoff series on Tuesday at Dodger Stadium.
The Dodgers (93-69) enter the postseason as the favorite after winning six of their final seven games, including a three-game sweep in Seattle to close the year. They will look to continue their recent dominance over the Reds, having swept a three-game set in Los Angeles in late August by a combined score of 18-4.
Cincinnati (83-79), which clinched a playoff berth on the final weekend, arrives after dropping its regular-season finale in Milwaukee. The Reds have relied on strong pitching lately, winning three of their last four series.
The series opener features a marquee pitching matchup, though official starters were not announced. The Dodgers’ lineup, powered by Shohei Ohtani who homered in Sunday’s win, will test a Reds staff that posted a 2.45 ERA over its final three games against Milwaukee.
According to Interstat, the game is projected to be a high-scoring affair, with a simulated final of Dodgers 7, Reds 6. Los Angeles is installed as a 1.5-run favorite, with an over/under of 7.5 runs.
First pitch is scheduled for 5:07 p.m. PDT.
