CHICAGO (Interstat) — The Miami Marlins will continue a late-season road trip Tuesday night against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. First pitch is scheduled for Sept. 22, 2026, with the forecast calling for 61 degrees at game time.

Miami enters 76-80 and is coming off a 7-3 loss at San Diego on Sept. 20. The Marlins have lost three straight and are 4-6 over their last 10 games. Javier Sanoja remains a player to watch for Miami. Sanoja went 1 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs in the loss to San Diego. Over his last 10 games, he has 12 hits, two home runs and 10 RBIs. Sanoja also went 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs at Arizona on Sept. 14 and had two hits and an RBI against San Diego on Sept. 18. Janson Junk is scheduled to start for the Marlins. Junk has a season record of 6-9.

Chicago enters 87-69 and is coming off a 9-1 win at Cincinnati on Sept. 20. The Cubs have won six of their last 10 games. David Peterson is a player to watch for Chicago. Peterson allowed one earned run over six innings with seven strikeouts in his most recent start against the Reds. He also worked six innings and allowed one earned run with seven strikeouts against Atlanta on Sept. 14.

The clubs met earlier this month at loanDepot park, where Miami won the series finale 10-3 on Sept. 6 after Chicago took the first two games, 6-1 on Sept. 4 and 6-5 on Sept. 5. Miami won two of three at Arizona before dropping three straight to the Padres. The Marlins’ most recent win was a 4-3 decision at Arizona on Sept. 16. Chicago took two of three at Cincinnati and has won three of its last four games. Chicago will send a lineup that features Pete Crow-Armstrong, who had three hits, a home run and two RBIs in the win at Cincinnati.

Following Tuesday’s game, the Marlins and Cubs will meet again Wednesday and Thursday at Wrigley Field. Miami will return home to face Atlanta on Sept. 25, while Chicago will travel to Boston for a series beginning Sept. 25.
