Cincinnati Reds at Los Angeles Dodgers

LOS ANGELES (Interstat) — The Cincinnati Reds and Los Angeles Dodgers open a three-game series Monday at Dodger Stadium, with Cincinnati looking to build on a two-game winning streak and the Dodgers riding a four-game run.

First pitch is expected under cloudy skies with temperatures around 71 degrees.

The Reds (69-74) enter after a 12-8 win over Milwaukee on Sunday. Elly De La Cruz, the designated hitter in that game, went 2 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs. Over his last 10 games, De La Cruz is 19 for 39 with two home runs and eight RBIs. Juan Brito added three hits and one RBI in Sunday’s victory, and Emilio Pagán pitched one-third of an inning scoreless relief.

Cincinnati will start Chase Burns, who is 15-3 this season. No probable starter has been announced for Los Angeles. The teams will play again Tuesday and Wednesday at Dodger Stadium before Cincinnati heads to Milwaukee and Los Angeles travels to Miami.

The Dodgers (86-57) have won four straight after beating Washington 7-5 on Sunday. Mookie Betts went 1 for 5 with a home run and four RBIs. He is 14 for 42 with two home runs and 11 RBIs over his past 10 games. Edgardo Henriquez struck out two in one scoreless inning, and Bobby Miller allowed one run over three innings.

Los Angeles is listed as a minus-1.5 run-line favorite. The over-under is set at 8 runs. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 5-4 Reds win, while Interstat’s ELO system gives the Dodgers a 67.9 percent chance to win.

The teams will meet again in Cincinnati from Sept. 14-17, making this the start of seven head-to-head matchups over an 11-day stretch.
