Milwaukee Brewers at San Francisco Giants

SAN FRANCISCO (Interstat) — The Milwaukee Brewers, owners of the best record in the National League, open a two-game series Tuesday night against the last-place San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. PDT. Milwaukee (66-39) will send right-hander Logan Henderson (4-1) to the mound. San Francisco (44-61) had not named a starter as of Monday evening, though right-hander Adrian Houser is a candidate after working in relief recently.

The Brewers are 1 1/2-run favorites, according to Interstat’s game simulator, which projects a 6-4 Milwaukee victory. The over/under is 7 1/2 runs.

Milwaukee’s Jacob Misiorowski has been electric out of the bullpen. The right-hander allowed one earned run over 21 innings in his past four appearances, striking out 39. He struck out 12 in five innings Sunday – matching his career high – in an 11-2 win over Colorado. He also fanned 11 in seven innings July 7 at St. Louis.

Houser, who pitched for Milwaukee from 2019-23, has lost his past five decisions. The right-hander allowed three earned runs in three innings July 19 at Seattle and surrendered two hits without an earned run in four innings Sunday against the Los Angeles Angels, a 4-3 loss.

Monday’s scheduled series opener was postponed due to rain and will be made up as part of a split doubleheader Wednesday.

The Brewers took three of four from San Francisco when the teams met in Milwaukee from June 1-4. The Giants won 1-0 on June 3 before the Brewers answered with an 8-3 win June 2 and a 16-2 rout June 1.

Milwaukee is coming off a series win against the Rockies, taking two of three. The Brewers have won six of their past nine.

San Francisco has lost four of six, including two of three to the Angels over the weekend.

Tuesday’s game begins a seven-game road trip for Milwaukee, which visits the Los Angeles Angels for three games starting Friday. The Giants host San Diego for four games beginning Thursday before a three-game set at Texas.
