Houston Astros at Los Angeles Angels

ANAHEIM, Calif. (Interstat) – The Houston Astros visit the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday at Angel Stadium in the second game of a four-game series. First pitch is at 7:07 p.m. PDT.

Houston (52-55) is coming off a 12-3 loss Sunday at the Chicago White Sox. Shortstop Jeremy Peña went 2-for-4 with two home runs and two RBIs in that game, extending a hot stretch in which he has five homers over his last seven games. Peña is batting .435 (10-for-23) with four home runs and seven RBIs during that span. The Astros have lost four of their last five games.

Los Angeles (42-64) won 4-3 on Sunday at San Francisco, snapping a four-game losing streak. Right-hander José Soriano pitched five scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out five. In his last two starts, Soriano has a 1.50 ERA with 12 strikeouts over 12 innings. The Angels have lost 10 of their last 14 games.

The series opener Monday was postponed due to inclement weather. The teams have split six meetings this season, with the Angels winning two of three at home in June. The Angels took the last game played between them, 3-2 on June 10.

Houston is a -1.5 favorite, according to Interstat projections. The over/under is 8.5 runs. The simulator projects a 5-4 Astros victory.

Peña leads the Astros with a .267 average, 19 home runs and 55 RBIs. For the Angels, Jorge Soler has 16 homers and 50 RBIs. Soriano (6-9, 4.12 ERA) is scheduled to start Tuesday. Houston’s starter has not been announced.

Following Tuesday’s game, the Astros return home for a three-game series against Texas starting Friday. The Angels host Milwaukee for three games beginning Friday.
