PHILADELPHIA (Interstat) — Trea Turner homered twice and drove in five runs, leading the Philadelphia Phillies to a 10-7 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night at Citizens Bank Park in front of 40,265 fans in a game that lasted 3 hours.
Turner, the shortstop, went 3 for 5 with a double and two home runs, including a three-run shot in the sixth inning that turned a one-run game into a Phillies rout. His first homer came in the second inning, a two-run blast that capped a four-run frame. The victory pushed Philadelphia’s record to 56-45 while the Dodgers fell to 63-38.

Emmet Sheehan took the loss for the Dodgers, falling to 4-7 after surrendering eight runs — seven earned — on seven hits and four walks in 5 2/3 innings.
Mookie Betts starred for the Dodgers with a 4-for-5 performance that included two home runs and three RBIs. His solo homer in the seventh inning and a two-run blast in the ninth kept Los Angeles within striking distance, but the Phillies’ bullpen held on.
The game began as a pitcher’s duel before Philadelphia broke through in the bottom of the second. With one out, Bryson Stott singled and J.T. Realmuto followed with a single. Gabriel Rincones Jr. doubled to left, scoring Stott and sending Realmuto to third. Justin Crawford then lifted a sacrifice fly to right, bringing home Realmuto. Philadelphia threatened in the fifth but the Dodgers escaped. Justin Crawford singled and stole second, but Sheehan struck out Kyle Schwarber and then intentionally walked Bryce Harper. Alec Bohm flied out to center, stranding two runners.
The Dodgers pulled within one in the sixth. Betts singled and Rojas forced him out at second, but Hernández singled. Max Muncy doubled to right, scoring Rojas and sending Hernández to third. After Rushing struck out, the Phillies intentionally walked Shohei Ohtani. Andy Pages then singled to left, scoring Hernández and moving Muncy to third and Ohtani to second. But Tommy Edman flied out to left, leaving the bases loaded and the score 4-3.
That set the stage for Turner’s heroics in the bottom of the sixth. Brandon Marsh led off with a solo home run to left-center, his 16th, extending the lead to 5-3. Stott doubled and Realmuto struck out. Derek Hill walked, and Crawford flied out. Then Turner, with two outs, crushed a 1-1 pitch over the left-field wall, scoring Stott and Hill for his second homer of the night and a 8-3 Phillies advantage. Schwarber struck out to end the inning.
The Dodgers got one back in the seventh when Betts led off with a solo home run to left-center, his 12th. But Alex Freeland and Hernández grounded out, and the score remained 8-4.
Philadelphia added a run in the seventh on Bryce Harper’s solo homer to left-center, his 21st, making it 9-4. After a strikeout of Bohm and two flyouts, the Dodgers went in order in the top of the eighth, with Muncy, Rushing and Ohtani all grounding out.
The Phillies padded their lead in the eighth. Realmuto grounded out, then Derek Hill, batting as a pinch hitter, crushed a solo homer to left-center, his eighth, to extend the lead to 10-4. Justin Crawford grounded out and Turner struck out.
The Dodgers mounted a rally in the ninth. Andy Pages walked, Tommy Edman singled to put runners at first and third, and Eliezer Alfonzo grounded into a force out that scored Pages, with Edman out at second. Betts then crushed his second homer of the night, a two-run shot to left-center, his 13th, to make it 10-7. But Alex Freeland struck out and Hernández grounded out to end the game.
