ST. LOUIS (Interstat) — The Atlanta Braves snapped a two-game losing streak against the St. Louis Cardinals with a 4-3 victory Sunday afternoon at Busch Stadium III, scoring the go-ahead run in the ninth inning on a throwing error.

Atlanta, now 55-40, struck first in the second inning. A walk to Dominic Smith, a hit batter on Austin Riley and a sacrifice bunt by Jim Jarvis put runners at second and third with one out. After Brewer Hicklen struck out, Drake Baldwin drew a bases-loaded walk to force in Smith for a 1-0 lead.

The Cardinals answered in the bottom of the first. Jordan Walker walked, and Alec Burleson doubled to left-center, scoring Walker to tie the game 1-1.

Atlanta regained the lead in the fourth. Riley was hit by a pitch, and Hicklen singled him to second. Baldwin then lined a single to right field, scoring Riley and giving the Braves a 2-1 advantage.

The score remained deadlocked until the ninth. Ozzie Albies doubled to left with one out. Matt Olson grounded out to shortstop, moving Albies to third. Michael Harris II was hit by a pitch. Mauricio Dubon then hit a ground ball that shortstop Masyn Winn threw wildly to first, allowing Albies to score the decisive run.
