Heliot Ramos’ two homers power Giants to 10‑1 rout of Blue Jays

SAN FRANCISCO (Interstat) — Heliot Ramos homered twice and drove in five runs, and Landen Roupp pitched eight strong innings as the San Francisco Giants routed the Toronto Blue Jays 10-1 on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Oracle Park in front of 32,740 fans in a game that lasted 2 hours, 9 minutes.

Ramos, who entered the game in a 3-for-17 slump over his previous four contests, broke out with a triple in the first inning and a three-run homer in the sixth, then added a two-run shot in the eighth. His final line: 3 for 5, two home runs, a triple and five RBIs.

The game turned decisively in the bottom of the sixth inning when the Giants sent 10 batters to the plate and scored five runs to break open a 3-1 lead. With one out and runners at second and third after a fielding error by third baseman Kazuma Okamoto, Victor Bericoto singled to right field, driving in two runs. After a popout, Ramos launched a 1-0 pitch over the right-field wall, his seventh homer of the season, to plate three more and make it 8-1.

Roupp (6-8) was dominant from the start. He allowed only three hits and one earned run, striking out five and walking two over eight innings. The 26-year-old right-hander retired the side in order in the second, fourth, seventh and eighth innings, and never allowed a Blue Jays baserunner past second base after the third inning.

Kevin Gausman (4-8) took the loss for Toronto. The right-hander allowed five hits and four earned runs in 5 1/3 innings, striking out eight and walking three. He gave up a solo home run to Okamoto in the sixth before exiting with one out in the same inning.

San Francisco struck first in the bottom of the first inning. Ramos led off with a triple to center field, scoring on a throwing error by shortstop Andrés Giménez. The Giants added a run in the fourth on a double-play groundout by Willy Adames, scoring Rafael Devers from third. In the fifth, San Francisco manufactured a run on a sacrifice bunt, a groundout and a walk, with Casey Schmitt scoring on a strikeout-wild pitch sequence.

Toronto’s only run came in the top of the sixth when Okamoto led off the inning with his 20th home run of the season, a solo shot to left-center field off Roupp. It was the only extra-base hit for the Blue Jays, who managed just three hits total — singles by Ernie Clement and Nathan Lukes, and Okamoto’s homer.

Spencer Bivens pitched a perfect ninth inning for San Francisco, striking out two. Tommy Nance tossed 1 2/3 innings of relief for Toronto, allowing one earned run on one hit. Adam Macko allowed two earned runs on two hits in one inning of work.

Other key performances: Victor Bericoto went 2 for 4 with two RBIs for the Giants. Luis Arraez had a single and a walk in four plate appearances. For Toronto, Okamoto was 1 for 4 with a home run and an RBI. Gausman recorded eight strikeouts but was tagged for four runs.

The Giants improved to 38-52 with the win, while the Blue Jays fell to 42-49. Toronto dropped its second straight game after being shut out by Seattle in consecutive outings. San Francisco snapped a two-game losing streak.

The Blue Jays continue their road trip with the second game of this three-game series Tuesday, July 7 at Oracle Park. The Giants host the same Toronto team Tuesday before opening a four-game home stand against Colorado on Thursday.
