Atlanta Braves at San Francisco Giants

SAN FRANCISCO (Interstat) — The National League East-leading Atlanta Braves face the last-place San Francisco Giants on Sunday evening at Oracle Park, where clear skies and 66-degree temperatures are forecast.

Atlanta (49-31) holds a commanding 10-game lead over the New York Mets in its division and has won two of the first three games of this four-game series, including a 3-1 victory Friday. The Braves dropped a 7-5 decision to the Giants on June 17 at Truist Park but have won six of their past nine overall.

Right-hander Raisel Iglesias has been a standout in the Atlanta bullpen. In his past eight appearances, spanning 8⅔ innings, Iglesias has allowed two earned runs while striking out eight. He pitched a scoreless inning with no hits in Friday’s win over the Giants.

San Francisco (33-48) owns the worst record in the NL West, 18 games behind the first-place Los Angeles Dodgers. The Giants have dropped five of their past seven and have not won consecutive games since June 14-15.

Right-hander Adrian Houser has been used primarily out of the bullpen for San Francisco. In his past four outings, covering 11⅔ innings, he has allowed five earned runs with 14 strikeouts. Houser threw 2⅓ scoreless innings with one strikeout in Friday’s loss.

Betting markets list Atlanta as a 1.5-run favorite. The over-under is set at 7½ runs. An industry projection model forecasts a 5-3 San Francisco victory, though the Giants have been outscored by 42 runs this season.

The Braves have hit .248 as a team, third in the NL, with 82 home runs. San Francisco is hitting .234, 14th in the league, and has a 4.62 ERA (Interstat) — 13th in the NL.

NOTES: Atlanta begins a six-game homestand Tuesday against St. Louis. San Francisco opens a three-game series Monday at Arizona.
