San Francisco Giants at Miami Marlins

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (Interstat) — The Miami Marlins look to climb back to .500 on Friday night when they host the San Francisco Giants at loanDepot Park.

First pitch is set for 6:40 p.m., with the forecast calling for 86-degree and cloudy conditions.

Miami enters the contest at 37-38, while San Francisco sits at 31-43. The Marlins took two of three from the Philadelphia Phillies earlier this week, including a 12-4 win Wednesday. Miami won the previous series between the teams, taking two of three in San Francisco in April. The Marlins, however, have dropped the last two meetings.

Kyle Stowers leads a potent Marlins offense. In Wednesday’s win, Stowers went 4-for-5 with two home runs and five RBIs. Over his last 10 games, the first baseman is batting .304 with three homers and 13 RBIs. Sandy Alcantara earned the win Wednesday, allowing two earned runs over six innings.

San Francisco, meanwhile, arrives in Miami after taking two of three on the road against the Atlanta Braves. The Giants won Wednesday’s series finale 7-5.

Luis Arraez, a former Marlin traded to San Francisco in 2023, returns to loanDepot Park. Arraez went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs in Wednesday’s win, his fourth multi-hit game in his last six. He is batting .303 over his last 10 contests. On the mound, Carson Whisenhunt earned the win Wednesday, allowing two earned runs over five innings.

The Interstat game simulator projects a 6-5 Miami victory.

After Friday’s opener, the teams play the second game of the three-game series Saturday, followed by the finale Sunday. Miami then opens a three-game set Monday against Texas. San Francisco returns home Tuesday for a three-game series against Oakland.
