Milwaukee Brewers at Colorado Rockies
DENVER (Interstat) -- The Milwaukee Brewers look to build on their strong start to the season when they visit the Colorado Rockies on Saturday in the second game of a three-game series at Coors Field.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:10 p.m. MDT.
Milwaukee (37-23) leads the National League Central and sends right-hander Jacob Misiorowski (6-2) to the mound. Misiorowski has been a key part of the Brewers’ rotation this season.
Colorado (24-39) will counter with right-hander Tanner Gordon (0-1), who is still seeking his first win of the season.
The Brewers enter the game after a 12-9 loss to the San Francisco Giants on Thursday. Milwaukee outfielder Jackson Chourio had a standout performance in that game, going 3 for 4 with two home runs and four RBI. Chourio has been one of the hottest hitters in the league over the past week, collecting multiple hits in five of his last six games. Over that stretch, he has driven in 11 runs and hit three home runs.
For the Rockies, outfielder Tyler Freeman has been a bright spot. Freeman homered in Colorado’s 11-4 loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday and has hit safely in seven of his last nine games.
The series is tied at one game apiece after the teams played to a 1-1 tie on Friday in a game called early due to weather.
Coors Field is known for its hitter-friendly conditions, which could benefit both lineups. Milwaukee’s offense ranks among the top in the league in runs scored, while Colorado has struggled to string together consistent production.
The Brewers have won seven of their last 10 games. The Rockies have lost seven of their last 10.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 6-3 Milwaukee victory. The Brewers are a -1.5 favorite on the run line, and the over/under is 10.5 runs.
Saturday’s matchup marks the second of a three-game set. The series concludes Sunday. Milwaukee then travels to for a three-game series beginning Monday. Colorado returns home to host the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday.
