PHILADELPHIA (Interstat) — The Chicago White Sox and Philadelphia Phillies, both sporting identical 33-29 records, open a three-game series Friday night at Citizens Bank Park.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. EDT under cloudy skies with a temperature of 86 degrees.

Chicago will start left-hander Anthony Kay (5-1, 3.12 ERA), who has won three straight decisions. Philadelphia counters with lefty Jesús Luzardo (4-4, 4.01 ERA), who is coming off a no-decision against the Los Angeles Dodgers on May 29.

The White Sox enter on a high note after blanking the Minnesota Twins 8-0 on Wednesday. Right-hander Erick Fedde tossed five shutout innings, scattering two hits with two strikeouts. Left fielder Sam Antonacci went 4-for-4 with an RBI, and designated hitter Andrew Benintendi homered and drove in two runs.

Fedde, who is not scheduled to start this series, has been a key contributor. Over his past five appearances, he is 4-1 with a 3.54 ERA, though he was rocked for 10 hits and eight earned runs in 3⅓ innings against San Francisco on May 23.

Philadelphia took the opener of its series against San Diego 6-4 on Thursday. Right-hander Zack Wheeler threw seven innings, allowing two earned runs on two hits with eight strikeouts. Right fielder Adolis García homered and drove in a run.

Wheeler, who will not start Friday, has been dominant lately. Over his last five outings, he is 4-1 with a 1.65 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 33⅓ innings.

The Phillies have won four of their last five games, while the White Sox have taken three of four.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 7-6 Phillies victory. Philadelphia is listed as a -1.5 run favorite, and the over/under is 8.5.

Following the series, Chicago returns home to face Atlanta on Tuesday, while Philadelphia travels to Toronto for a three-game set starting Monday.
