AP Sports Preview: Marlins at Giants
SAN FRANCISCO (Interstat) — The Miami Marlins visit the San Francisco Giants on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Oracle Park in a matchup of sub-.500 clubs looking to build momentum.
Miami (12-13) enters after a 4-1 win Wednesday over St. Louis, snapping a two-game skid. Right-hander Sandy Alcantara (2-2) is the Marlins’ listed probable starter, though he faces competition from Adrian Houser (0-2). Alcantara has been sharp lately, though Miami also noted recent strong relief from Janson Junk, who threw 5 scoreless innings against the Cardinals on Wednesday.
The Marlins have won four of their past six, but their offense remains inconsistent after scoring three or fewer runs in five of their previous 10 games.
The Giants (11-14) are coming off a 3-0 loss Thursday to the Los Angeles Dodgers, a defeat that ended a three-game winning streak. Right-hander Logan Webb (0-2 in his last three starts) is set to start. Webb allowed three runs over seven innings Thursday but took the loss. He has pitched effectively despite limited run support, posting a 2.86 ERA over his past four starts.
San Francisco has struggled offensively, scoring two or fewer runs in five of their past seven games.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 5-3 Giants victory. The ELO system gives San Francisco a 55.6 percent chance to win. Miami opened as a -1.5 favorite, and the over/under is 7.5 runs.
First pitch is at 7:15 p.m. PDT.
