Chicago White Sox at Arizona Diamondbacks
PHOENIX (Interstat) — The Chicago White Sox and Arizona Diamondbacks will conclude their three-game interleague series Thursday at Chase Field, with first pitch scheduled for the evening.
The Diamondbacks (13-10) will look to salvage a series split after the teams split the first two games. Arizona dropped an 11-5 decision on Tuesday before Wednesday’s game resulted in a 0-0 score. The White Sox (9-14) have won three of their last five.
Arizona is favored behind right-hander Michael Soroka (4-0), who has been a pillar of stability in the rotation. He will face White Sox righty Davis Martin (3-1).
Offensive players to watch include Chicago’s Sam Antonacci, who launched a three-run homer in Tuesday’s victory. Arizona’s Ildemaro Vargas also homered and drove in three runs in that game, continuing a steady stretch at the plate.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, the projection is for a 7-3 Diamondbacks victory. The betting line lists Arizona as a 1.5-run favorite with an over/under of 9 runs.
Following the series, the White Sox return to Chicago to open a homestand against the Washington Nationals on Friday. The Diamondbacks will have an off-day Friday before hosting the San Diego Padres on Saturday.
