Chicago White Sox at Kansas City Royals

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Interstat) — The Kansas City Royals will look to secure a series win when they host the Chicago White Sox in the third game of a four-game set Saturday evening at Kauffman Stadium.

The American League Central rivals have split the first two contests, with the White Sox winning 2-0 on Thursday before the Royals answered with a 2-0 shutout of their own Friday night.

The series continues under cloudy skies with a game-time temperature forecast near 55 degrees.

Kansas City (6-8) will send right-hander Michael Wacha (1-0) to the mound. Wacha has been sharp in his early outings. He will be opposed by Chicago right-hander Erick Fedde (0-2), who is seeking his first win of the season.

A player to watch for the White Sox (5-9) is right-hander Davis Martin, who delivered a strong seven-inning performance in Friday’s loss, allowing two earned runs. For the Royals, left-hander Kris Bubic is coming off a dominant outing, striking out 11 over seven scoreless innings in a win over Milwaukee on April 5.

Despite the Royals’ recent pitching success, Interstat’s game simulator projects a narrow 4-3 victory for the White Sox. However, the same outlet’s ELO system gives Kansas City a 65.5% probability to win. Betting markets list the Royals as a -1.5 run favorite with an over/under of 9 runs.

Following Saturday’s contest, the series concludes Sunday before both teams depart for their next opponents. The White Sox will host Tampa Bay for three games starting Tuesday, while the Royals head to Detroit for a three-game series.
