Preview: Angels at Reds, Saturday, April 11, 2026
CINCINNATI (Interstat) — The Cincinnati Reds look to even their series with the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday afternoon at Great American Ball Park after dropping the opener.
The Reds (8-5) fell 5-1 on Friday, while the Angels (6-7) snapped a three-game skid. Weather could be a factor, with a forecast of 71 degrees and rain at first pitch.
The pitching matchup features a rookie making his season debut against a left-hander seeking consistency. The Angels will start right-hander George Klassen (0-0, 0.00 ERA), who will be activated from the minors for his first major league appearance of 2026. He will face Reds left-hander Brandon Williamson (1-1, 4.91 ERA).
Williamson will try to help the Reds rebound from Thursday’s 8-1 loss in Miami. Cincinnati had won six of seven prior to losing its last two games.
A key player to watch for the Angels is reliever Brent Suter. Over his last five appearances, he has allowed earned runs in only two outings, including two scoreless innings in Wednesday’s loss to Atlanta.
For the Reds, reliever Brock Burke has been a bright spot, posting five consecutive scoreless appearances covering 5 2/3 innings while allowing just two hits and striking out eight.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, the Reds are projected to win 6-4. Cincinnati is a pregame favorite of 1.5 runs, with an over/under of 9.
Following Sunday’s series finale, the Angels begin a four-game series at the New York Yankees on Monday. The Reds will enjoy an off-day Monday before opening a three-game set at home against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday.
