Milwaukee Brewers at Boston Red Sox
Preview: Brewers at Red Sox, April 8, 2026
BOSTON (Interstat) — Two teams trending in opposite directions meet again Wednesday as the Milwaukee Brewers visit the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.
First pitch is scheduled for the evening, with rain and temperatures near 50 degrees forecast.
The Brewers (8-2) have won seven of their last eight, including an 8-6 victory over Boston on Monday to open this series. The Red Sox (2-8) have lost eight of their last nine games.
Milwaukee’s Sonny Gray (1-0) is the scheduled starter against Boston’s Chad Patrick (1-0). Gray last pitched on Opening Day, earning a win against Tampa Bay. Patrick got his win April 1 at Houston.
A player to watch for the Brewers is pitcher Brandon Woodruff, who started Monday’s win, allowing three earned runs over 5 2/3 innings. For Boston, first baseman Willson Contreras is a bright spot in a struggling lineup. He went 3 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs in Monday’s loss.
According to Interstat, the projection for Wednesday’s game is a 7-2 Brewers victory. The over/under is set at 8 runs, with Boston installed as a -1.5 favorite on the spread.
After this series concludes, the Brewers return home to face Washington on Friday. The Red Sox open a road trip in St. Louis on Friday.
