Braves Bounce Back Behind López, Rout Angels to Even Series
ANAHEIM, Calif. (Interstat) — Reynaldo López delivered another dominant start and the Atlanta Braves’ offense erupted late to beat the Los Angeles Angels 7-2 on Tuesday night at Angel Stadium.
The Angels took a first-inning lead on Jorge Soler’s two-run homer, but López silenced them thereafter. The right-hander struck out seven over 4 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing just three hits. Atlanta chipped away, tying the game in the second and taking the lead for good with a three-run fourth inning highlighted by Eli White’s two RBIs.
The Braves, who recorded 12 hits, added insurance with a run in the eighth and two in the ninth. Tyler Kinley earned the win in relief, while Raisel Iglesias secured his second save. Angels starter Yusei Kikuchi took the loss. Attendance was 40,450. The series concludes Wednesday.
