Seattle Mariners at Texas Rangers

ARLINGTON, Texas (Interstat) — The Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers will look to break out of early-season funks when they continue their series at Globe Life Field on Tuesday night.

Both clubs enter the matchup with 4-6 records, seeking consistency after a stretch of close losses. The Mariners fell 8-7 in 11 innings to the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday, while the Rangers dropped a 2-1 decision to the Cincinnati Reds.

The pitching matchup features right-handers on different trajectories. Seattle’s George Kirby (1-1, 3.38 ERA) takes the mound looking to build on a solid start to the season. He will be opposed by Texas veteran Nathan Eovaldi (0-2, 4.91 ERA), who is still searching for his first win of 2026.

A key player to watch for Seattle is second baseman Cole Young. He provided a spark in Sunday’s loss, blasting a three-run homer, and has driven in seven runs over his last ten games. For Texas, all eyes will be on starter Jack Leiter, though he is not scheduled to pitch. The young right-hander has been a bright spot, striking out 17 batters over 11 innings in his two starts this season, including a nine-strikeout performance last time out.

The series opened with a pitchers’ duel Monday, a 1-1 tie that was suspended due to rain in the sixth inning and is scheduled to be completed Wednesday. Tuesday’s contest will be the first full game of the set.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the Rangers are projected to edge the Mariners 4-3. Despite the simulation, Seattle has been installed as a -1.5 run favorite in sportsbooks, with an over/under set at 8 runs.

Following this three-game series, the Mariners will host the Houston Astros for four games, while the Rangers embark on a West Coast road trip against the Los Angeles Dodgers and Athletics. The two division rivals will meet again for a three-game series in Seattle beginning April 17.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CDT.
