Houston Astros at Colorado Rockies
Preview: Astros at Rockies, April 6, 2026
DENVER (Interstat) — The Houston Astros look to rebound from a extra-inning loss when they open a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field on Monday.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. MDT under clear skies with a temperature around 62 degrees.
The Astros (6-4) arrive after a 10-12, 10-inning defeat in on Sunday, despite home runs from Jake Meyers and Christian Walker. Houston had won five of its previous six.
Walker, a key offseason addition, has been a driving force. The first baseman is 12 for his last 38 (.316) with three homers and 11 RBIs over his past 10 games. He homered in two of the three games in Oakland.
The Rockies (3-6) are coming off a 4-1 win over Philadelphia on Sunday, powered by a two-homer game from Mickey Moniak and a strong start from right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano.
Sugano, who earned the win Sunday with six innings of one-run ball, will not pitch Monday. The Rockies’ starter is listed as TBA. The Astros are expected to start right-hander Hunter Brown (0-0, 4.50 ERA).
Colorado has struggled offensively, scoring three or fewer runs in six of its nine games. Its pitching, however, was sharp in taking two of three from the Phillies.
The series features a contrast in early-season form. Houston’s lineup has produced 65 runs, while Colorado has scored just 30, the fewest in the National League.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, the Astros are projected to win 8-2.
Following this series, the Astros continue a road trip with four games in Seattle. The Rockies will host two more against Houston before traveling to San Diego for a four-game set.
