New York Mets at San Francisco Giants
SAN FRANCISCO (Interstat) — The New York Mets and San Francisco Giants continue their four-game series at Oracle Park on Friday, with both clubs looking to establish momentum in the young season.
The Mets (3-3) will send right-hander Nolan McLean (0-0) to the mound for his first start of 2026. He will be opposed by Giants righty Tyler Mahle (0-1). First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. PDT under cloudy skies with temperatures around 55 degrees.
New York aims to bounce back after a 2-1, 11-inning loss in St. Louis on Wednesday and a 7-2 defeat in Thursday’s series opener here. A player to watch for the Mets is Freddy Peralta, who delivered a strong outing in that loss to the Cardinals, allowing one earned run over 5 1/3 innings with seven strikeouts.
San Francisco (2-4) has also struggled offensively, coming off a 7-1 loss in San Diego. The Giants’ Adrian Houser kept them in that game, giving up one earned run in 5 1/3 innings, and will be a key figure if the lineup can provide support.
Despite the Giants holding a slight 50.4% win probability according to Interstat’s ELO ratings, the Mets are installed as pregame favorites with a -1.5 spread. The game simulator projects a narrow 5-4 Giants victory. The over/under is set at 7 runs.
Following this contest, the teams will meet twice more over the weekend before the Mets return home to face Arizona and the Giants host Philadelphia.
