Seattle Mariners at Los Angeles Angels
ANAHEIM, Calif. (Interstat) — Two American League West teams seeking an early-season spark will meet Friday when the Seattle Mariners visit the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium.
Both clubs enter the three-game series with identical 3-4 records. The Mariners dropped two of three at home to the New York Yankees, including a 5-3 loss Wednesday. The Angels are coming off a 2-1 series loss at the Chicago Cubs, falling 6-2 in the finale.
The pitching matchup features two right-handers looking for their first decision of 2026. Seattle’s Bryan Woo (0-0) will make his season debut against Los Angeles’ Reid Detmers (0-0).
A player to watch for Seattle is starter George Kirby, who is not scheduled to pitch Friday but has been a bright spot. He tossed six strong innings in a win over Cleveland on March 27, allowing one run on two hits, but took the loss Wednesday after giving up four runs in six innings against the Yankees.
For the Angels, reliever Brent Suter has been effective out of the bullpen. In his last two appearances, he has thrown four scoreless innings, allowing just three hits while striking out six.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, the Mariners are projected to win 4-3. The system gives Seattle a 63.6% probability to win. Bettors have installed the Mariners as a -1.5 run favorite, with an over/under of 8 runs.
After this series, the Mariners head to Texas for three games before hosting Houston. The Angels will welcome Atlanta for three games before embarking on a road trip to Cincinnati and New York.
