Cleveland Guardians at Los Angeles Dodgers

CLEVELAND (Interstat) — The Cleveland Guardians look to secure a series win against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday at Dodger Stadium in the finale of a three-game set.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. PDT. The Guardians (3-2) evened the series with a 4-2 victory on Monday after the teams played to a scoreless tie on Tuesday.

Cleveland will send right-hander Gavin Williams (0-1) to the mound. He will be opposed by Dodgers right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto (1-0) in a rematch of the series opener.

A player to watch for Cleveland is pitcher Parker Messick, who delivered six scoreless innings with five strikeouts in Monday’s win. For the Dodgers, right-hander Roki Sasaki aims to rebound after taking the loss in that game, allowing one earned run over four innings.

The Guardians’ most recent victory was powered by Messick’s start and a three-hit game from Steven Kwan. Cleveland has split its first six games, including a season-opening series in Seattle.

Los Angeles (3-1) saw its three-game win streak to start the season snapped on Monday. The Dodgers’ bullpen, including Justin Wrobleski and Tanner Scott, will be key after the offense was held to two runs in the last 18 innings.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the projected final score is Dodgers 7, Guardians 5. Los Angeles is a pregame favorite with a spread of -1.5, and the over/under is set at 8 runs.

Following the series, Cleveland returns home to face the Chicago Cubs on Friday to begin a six-game homestand. The Dodgers embark on a six-game road trip, starting Friday in Washington against the Nationals.
