Rangers, Orioles Set for Afternoon Rubber Match in Baltimore

BALTIMORE (Interstat) — The Texas Rangers and Baltimore Orioles will conclude their season-opening series with a Wednesday afternoon matchup at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. EDT under partly cloudy skies with a game-time temperature near 78 degrees.

The Rangers (3-1) have taken the first two games of the series, including a 5-2 victory Monday and a 4-3 win Tuesday. They will send left-hander Trevor Rogers (1-0) to the mound. Rogers earned a win in his first start of the 2026 season.

The Orioles (2-2), looking to avoid a series sweep at home, have not announced a starting pitcher.

A player to watch for Texas is right-hander Jack Leiter, who dominated the Orioles lineup on Monday. Leiter pitched six strong innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits while striking out eight in the 5-2 victory.

For Baltimore, reliever Rico Garcia has been a bright spot in the bullpen. In two appearances this series, he has tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing no hits and striking out four.

Texas first baseman Jake Burger, who drove in two runs in Monday’s win, will look to provide power in the middle of the lineup. Baltimore shortstop Gunnar Henderson, who homered and had two RBIs in the same game, aims to spark the Orioles’ offense.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the projected final score is Texas 4, Baltimore 3.

Following the game, the Rangers will travel home to open a series against the Cincinnati Reds on Friday. The Orioles will hit the road to begin a three-game set with the Pittsburgh Pirates, also on Friday.
