Cleveland Guardians at Los Angeles Dodgers
Preview: Guardians at Dodgers, March 31, 2026
LOS ANGELES (Interstat) — A marquee pitching matchup featuring a familiar face in a new uniform highlights Tuesday’s interleague game between the Cleveland Guardians and Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.
Cleveland right-hander Shohei Ohtani (0-0) is set to make his first career start against the franchise where he spent the previous eight seasons. Ohtani takes the mound for the Guardians (2-2), who evened their record with a 6-5, 10-inning win at Seattle on Saturday but were shut out 8-0 by the Mariners on Sunday.
He will be opposed by Dodgers ace Tyler Glasnow (1-0), who delivered a quality start in Los Angeles’ season opener. Glasnow allowed two runs on four hits over six innings, striking out six, in a 3-2 win over Arizona on March 28.
The Dodgers (3-0) are one of three remaining undefeated teams in the majors, having swept the Diamondbacks to open the season. Their bullpen has yet to allow a run in 10 1/3 innings.
Cleveland’s bullpen will be a focus after a rocky start in Seattle. A player to watch for the Guardians is reliever Colin Holderman, who tossed two scoreless innings with two strikeouts in Sunday’s loss but allowed two runs in an inning of work last Friday.
For Los Angeles, catcher Will Smith provided the key hit in the opener, a two-run homer in the third inning that proved to be the difference.
These teams opened a four-game series Monday night with a pitchers’ duel that resulted in a 0-0 tie, a contest that does not count toward regular-season records.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, Tuesday’s contest projects to be a high-scoring affair, with a predicted final of Dodgers 7, Guardians 6.
Following Wednesday’s series finale, Cleveland returns home to face the Chicago Cubs on Friday. The Dodgers embark on a six-game road trip beginning Friday in Washington.
