Preview: Rays at Brewers, Tuesday, March 31, 2026
MILWAUKEE (Interstat) — The surging Milwaukee Brewers, one of the early season’s few remaining unbeaten teams, host the struggling Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday night in the second of a three-game series at American Family Field.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:10 p.m. CDT under a forecast of 69-degree temperatures and rain.
The Brewers (3-0) have opened the season with a sweep of the Chicago White Sox, outscoring them 29-10. They will send right-hander Brandon Woodruff to the mound. The Rays (1-2), coming off a series loss in St. Louis, counter with left-hander Shane McClanahan.
Milwaukee’s offense has been potent, led by Christian Yelich. The veteran outfielder is 6 for 10 with a home run and five RBIs over the first three games, including a pivotal pinch-hit, three-run homer in Sunday’s 9-7 win.
Tampa Bay’s bright spot has been Yandy Díaz. The designated hitter is 9 for 16 (.563) with five RBIs to start the season. He went 5 for 6 with four RBIs in the Rays’ 11-7 victory over the Cardinals on Sunday, their lone win.
The teams played to a 2-2 tie in Monday’s series opener, an exhibition contest not counted in the regular season standings.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, the Brewers are projected to win 5-3. Milwaukee has been installed as a pregame favorite with a spread of -1.5. The over/under is set at 7.5 runs.
Following Wednesday’s series finale, the Rays travel to Minnesota for a three-game set starting Friday. The Brewers will begin a six-game road trip in Kansas City on Friday.
