Chicago White Sox at Miami Marlins
Preview: White Sox at Marlins, March 30, 2026
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (Interstat) — The winless Chicago White Sox will try to avoid a fourth straight loss to open the season when they face the undefeated Miami Marlins on Monday night at loanDepot Park.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. EDT under a forecast of 73-degree temperatures and rain.
The White Sox (0-3) are reeling after being outscored 29-10 in a season-opening sweep at Milwaukee. They will turn to right-hander Davis Martin in hopes of stopping the slide. Martin will be making his first start of 2026.
He will be opposed by Marlins right-hander Chris Paddack. Miami (3-0) is coming off a sweep of Colorado, winning two of the games by one run.
A bright spot for Chicago has been rookie shortstop Colson Montgomery. He broke out in Sunday’s 9-7 loss, going 2 for 3 with a home run and five RBIs. He will be a key figure in a lineup seeking consistent production.
The Marlins will counter with a player to watch of their own in right-hander Max Meyer. He earned the win Sunday, allowing three runs over five innings against the Rockies. Miami’s bullpen, which pitched four scoreless frames in that victory, has been a strength early.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, the Marlins are projected to win 7-2. Miami has been installed as a pregame favorite with a spread of -1.5. The over/under is 8.
Following Monday’s game, the teams will meet again Tuesday and Wednesday to complete the series.
The White Sox will then return to Chicago to open a homestand against Toronto on Thursday. The Marlins will hit the road for a weekend series against the New York Yankees starting Friday.
