Colorado Rockies at Toronto Blue Jays
Preview: Rockies at Blue Jays, March 30, 2026
TORONTO (Interstat) — Two teams on opposite trajectories will meet Monday at Rogers Centre when the winless Colorado Rockies face the undefeated Toronto Blue Jays to open a three-game series.
The Rockies (0-3) arrive in Toronto after being swept in a three-game set at Miami, including a 4-3 loss Sunday. Colorado’s offense has mustered just seven total runs this season. Jordan Beck provided a bright spot Sunday, driving in all three Rockies runs.
Toronto (3-0) completed its own sweep Sunday, defeating the Athletics 5-2. The Blue Jays’ pitching staff has been a strength early, anchored by a strong bullpen.
The pitching matchup features right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano for Colorado against Toronto’s Cody Ponce. Both starters are seeking their first decision of the young season.
A player to watch for the Rockies is left-hander Jose Quintana, who took the loss Sunday after allowing two earned runs over 4 1/3 innings against the Marlins. He could be available in relief.
For the Blue Jays, left-hander Eric Lauer is a key figure after earning the win Sunday with a dominant 5 1/3-inning, nine-strikeout performance against Oakland. His availability out of the bullpen would provide a significant boost.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, the Blue Jays are projected to win decisively, with a final score of 7-1. Betting markets favor Toronto heavily, installing the Blue Jays as a -1.5 run favorite with an over/under of 8.5 runs.
The series continues Tuesday and Wednesday in Toronto before both clubs embark on different paths. The Rockies will return home to face Philadelphia on Friday, while the Blue Jays will travel to Chicago for a series with the White Sox starting Thursday.
First pitch Monday is scheduled for 7:07 p.m. EDT.
