Tampa Bay Rays at St. Louis Cardinals

ST. LOUIS (Interstat) — The St. Louis Cardinals will look to complete a season-opening sweep of the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday at Busch Stadium.

First pitch is scheduled for the afternoon. The forecast calls for clear skies and 54 degrees.

The Cardinals (2-0) have taken the first two games of the series, including a 6-5, 10-inning victory Saturday. St. Louis has won five straight over Tampa Bay dating to 2025.

The Rays (0-2), meanwhile, are searching for their first win. They will send right-hander Dustin May to the mound. Steven Matz was initially listed as the probable pitcher. May did not pitch in the series’ first two games.

St. Louis will counter with right-hander Michael McGreevy, who was dominant in Thursday’s 9-7 win. McGreevy threw six hitless innings with five strikeouts.

A player to watch for Tampa Bay is right-hander Joe Boyle, who started Saturday and allowed two earned runs over six solid innings in a no-decision.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-0 Cardinals victory. Tampa Bay is a pregame favorite at -1.5, with an over/under of 7.5 runs.

Following the game, the Cardinals host the New York Mets for a three-game series starting Monday. The Rays travel to Milwaukee to begin a three-game set against the Brewers on Monday.
