Texas Rangers at Philadelphia Phillies

PHILADELPHIA (Interstat) — The Texas Rangers and Philadelphia Phillies, each seeking their first win of the 2026 season, will open a three-game series under the lights Thursday at Citizens Bank Park.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. EDT in cloudy conditions with a game-time temperature near 53 degrees.

The Rangers will send right-hander Nathan Eovaldi to the mound. Eovaldi owns a - record this season. The Phillies had not announced a starting pitcher as of Wednesday evening.

Both clubs are 0-0, marking a fresh start after disappointing ends to their 2025 campaigns. Texas concluded last season with a 9-8, 10-inning loss at Cleveland on Sept. 28. Philadelphia’s most recent game was a 2-1 defeat to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Division Series on Oct. 9.

A low-scoring affair is projected for the opener. The Interstat game simulator forecasts a 1-0 victory for the visiting Rangers.

The series continues Saturday and Sunday before both teams embark on different paths. Following the set, the Rangers travel to Baltimore for a three-game series against the Orioles beginning Monday. The Phillies will remain home to host the Washington Nationals for three games starting Monday.

For Texas, this game begins a 10-game stretch that includes series against the Cincinnati Reds and Seattle Mariners at Globe Life Field. Philadelphia’s upcoming slate features a three-city road trip to Colorado and San Francisco after their homestand concludes.
