Texas Rangers at Cleveland Guardians

CLEVELAND (Interstat) — The Cleveland Guardians will look to rebound from a series-opening loss when they host the Texas Rangers on Saturday at Progressive Field in the second game of a three-game set.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:10 p.m. EDT under clear skies with a game-time temperature of 66 degrees.

The Rangers (80-79) evened the series with a 4-2 victory on Friday. Texas has dominated the season series, winning three of the four matchups, including a three-game sweep in Arlington from Aug. 22-24. The Guardians were outscored 19-3 in those games.

Cleveland (86-73) has lost two of its last three games but had won 10 of its previous 13 before Thursday’s loss to Detroit. The Guardians’ offense was held to two runs on four hits in Friday’s defeat.

Texas arrives having lost four of its last five games, including a 4-0 loss to Minnesota on Thursday where its bullpen shined. Relievers Jacob Webb and Hoby Milner combined for 3 1/3 scoreless innings of relief in the loss.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the Guardians are heavy favorites, projected to win 7-1.

The series concludes Sunday.
