Tampa Bay Rays at Baltimore Orioles

BALTIMORE (Interstat) — The Tampa Bay Rays and Baltimore Orioles will conclude their three-game series Thursday afternoon at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, with inclement weather expected to play a role in the regular-season finale for both teams.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. EDT, though the forecast calls for a temperature of 75 degrees with rain.

The Rays (77-81) evened the series with a 6-2 victory on Wednesday behind a strong pitching performance from Shane Baz and a two-RBI game from Brandon Lowe. The Orioles (74-84) had taken the opener 6-0 on Tuesday.

Tampa Bay will send right-hander Drew Rasmussen (10-5, 3.45 ERA) to the mound. Baltimore is expected to counter with left-hander Cade Povich (3-8, 5.20 ERA).

Despite the Orioles holding a slight edge in recent head-to-head matchups, winning six of the last twelve, the Rays enter as the betting favorite with a spread of -1.5. The over/under is set at 8.5 runs. A projection from Interstat simulates a 5-3 Orioles victory, while its ELO system gives Baltimore a 51.4% probability to win.

Both teams are concluding disappointing seasons and will immediately head into their final series of the year against division rivals. Following Thursday’s game, the Rays travel to Toronto for a three-game set with the Blue Jays, while the Orioles head to New York to face the Yankees.
