Colorado Rockies at Seattle Mariners
SEATTLE (Interstat) — The Seattle Mariners, clinging to playoff hopes, return home to T-Mobile Park on Tuesday to open a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies, owners of the worst record in the majors.
The Mariners (87-69) are coming off a series win in Houston, including a 7-3 victory on Sunday. Logan Gilbert pitched six strong innings and J.P. Crawford provided a key grand slam in that win. Seattle has won 10 of its last 15 games.
Conversely, the Rockies (43-113) are concluding a dismal season. They snapped a three-game skid with a 3-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday, fueled by a strong start from Kyle Freeland and a two-run homer from Blaine Crim. Despite the recent win, Colorado is just 3-12 in its last 15 contests.
The series presents a stark contrast in fortunes. The Mariners are fighting for a postseason berth in the final week of the season, while the Rockies are playing out the string.
According to Interstat, the Mariners are heavy favorites with a 77.60% probability to win. Their game simulator projects a 7-3 victory for Seattle.
Following this series, the Mariners will host the Los Angeles Dodgers in a critical season-ending set. The Rockies will travel to San Francisco to face the Giants.
